Should you apply for the spokesperson position if you are not a financial expert? Absolutely!

Here's some typical questions we've been getting from potential applicants.

Q: I am not a math or banking whiz. Can I still apply?

A: For sure. In fact, we aren't looking for a math or banking whiz. We have plenty of financial experts on staff already. We are looking for a young person who is outgoing, energetic, engaging, personable and helpful. We'll supply the financial answers, some topic ideas along the way and plenty of guidance.

You supply the curiousity, talent and enthusiasm to learn as you go. You should be comfortable in front of and behind the camera. You should be creative and know how to write. You should know your way around the online social media community in South Carolina. And, you should have video editing experience and know your way around a Macintosh computer.

If you fall short in a couple of these areas, don't count yourself out. You can make up for it with personality and enthusiasm.

Q: So, what exactly will the spokesperson do?

A: We want you to be yourself by talking, typing and telling good stories. We want you to learn along the way and teach us what young people really want from South Carolina Federal. We want you to be entertaining, but more importantly, we want you to provide value to young people trying to figure out how to navigate their financial lives. And like we said above, we'll help you with the details.

While your role as the spokesperson is not a typical sales position, we would love young people to become members and open new account with us.

Here's the basic run-down of your day-to-day activities. You will:
• Write four text-based blog posts per week
• Produce one YouTube video per week
• Record five bonus 12seconds.tv videos per week
• Produce one financial education video per month
• Attend at least one event as the spokesperson per month

Optional stuff includes producing podcasts, trying live shows and being open to other ideas as they come along.

Interested? Does this sound like your kind of job? Put down the calculator and pick up your video camera and get to work on your applicantion. Time is ticking!
