South Carolina Federal in the Community

As I mentioned on Monday, it's the International Year of the Cooperative! This year we are meant to celebrate co-ops and all of the great work they do in the community. South Carolina Federal, being a co-op, does so much in the community and I thought I'd share a bit of what we do in today's blog.

Donate to Local Groups

We, as a Credit Union, are completely devoted to donating time and money to organizations within our own community. Whether we're raising funds to donate to MUSC or Water Missions International or volunteering our time at another local non-profit, we are very passionate about giving back to the organizations that provide help to others in our community.

Sponsor Community Events

South Carolina Federal is very involved in many great events in the Charleston, Columbia, and Georgetown areas every year. Here in Charleston we've been a part of anything from Movies in Marion Square to a rad improv comedy show at Theatre 99. We also sponsor our local sports teams such as the Stingrays, Riverdogs, and College of Charleston athletics!

This is just a couple of the ways we are involved in our community! Like I said, we are committed to giving back to the community that we serve...you don't see too many banks doing that!
