Thrifty Thursday: DIY Halloween Decorations
Alright, so I can easily admit that my fiance might be the DIY Queen and she may have inspired me to write this blog. She decorated for Halloween probably a week before October even started...she gets excited...she can't help it. She came up with some pretty cool stuff and it inspired to log into Pinterest for the first time in 3 months and see what was out there. So, today I'm hooking you up with some awesome inexpensive DIY projects for Halloween. Enjoy.
Pumpkin House Numbers

This is a fun/easy project. All you have to do is buy some pumpkins (one for every number in your address) and carve the numbers into it (You can probably scoop some sweet stenslis if you want it to look like the photo). This looks particularly cool at night when you toss some fire inside these bad boys.
Halloween Plates

For this, all you need is four (or as many plates as you want) that you can scoop from the Dollar Store and Martha Stewart reusable Halloween Window and Mirror Clings that cost less than 6 bucks.
You simply apply the cling to the plates and put them on display. I got this idea HERE.
Paper Lanterns

This is a super easy project that is cheap and will take no time at all. All you need is...
1. a paper lantern. Ikea sells these for cheap.
2. black card stock or heavy paper
3. adhesive dots or glue
4. a bat template such as this one
5. scissors and a pen for tracing and cutting
Then you simply cut out a bunch of bats, glue them to the lantern and hang it up. So simple! For more ideas you can check out Eighteen25's blogspot.
That's it! Three easy decorations for Halloween. Get into it.
Stay young & free,
